This past weekend I spent a good chunk of time at greenhouses and was so overwhelmed with how much everything there reflected God. Take a look at pansies or petunias, for example. Not a single one of them is speckled the exact same way. Not a single one of them has its leaves growing the same way. Their roots will never spread out in the exact same pattern as the one beside it. How can these things not point to something bigger? Or hostas, one of my absolute favourite foliage plants – the splotches on their leaves are never the exact same as the one next to it. The intricacies in every plant within a greenhouse are astonishing.
I’ve always loved doodling, and recently this little hobby exploded into a constant desire to create. Whether its hand lettering or drawing or painting.. I love it all. Anything that ends with my hands being covered in glue or splotches of colour absolutely thrills me. The more that I pour myself into this form of creativity the more that I become aware of what an artist God must be. If He created everything around us with such delicate intricacies, I am sure that He burns with love for art. It is only fitting that this desire I also possess comes directly from the greatest Creator and that just makes me love it so much more.
How can you look at everything in this world and not be overwhelmed by how present and how real God is in every single thing that you look at? It absolutely blows my mind.. How could butterflies get their unique patterns from a big bang? How could the oceans be filled with creatures and sand and rocks that no one will ever see, and it have all just came from a celestial explosion? I am absolutely certain that there is a divine force behind every single thing in this universe and even if I hadn’t been raised in a church background, that mindset would still prevail. There is no other explanation as far as I can see. His works are so unfathomable and I am completely enthralled with my Creator.
“For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.”
